With its current sensors, the ASTROSE system already offers a comprehensive range of available measured values around the conductor rope. This includes a highly accurate current measurement (+/-1A) as well as a voltage measurement (+/-1kV) with the derived quantities of phase angle and reactive power. The system operates in the range of the capacitive displacement current even if no useful power is transmitted. However, by means of an integrated energy storage device, excess energy can also be stored and thus line circuits can be bridged for several months without any problems, e.g. for maintenance purposes.

As soon as voltage is applied again, the system automatically goes back into operation. Further development activities are focused on the continuous expansion of the sensor platform for use on high-temperature conductor cables, e.g. supplemented by weather or optical sensors.
